Steve — Occupation
In October, 1999 I began what I thought was to be a four-month project programming in Microsoft Visual C++ for Central DuPage Health. I was one of a three-member team working with Netsteps, Inc. to develop a web-based delivery system for laboratory results. My initial responsibilities were to customize Netsteps' parser for HL7 to reflect the nuances of Central DuPage's particular system.

After that customization was finished, I began helping with the database programming and front-end web development. It was during this time that I learned new skills with Transact-SQL, HTML, and JavaScript. These new abilities greatly improved my resume, and Netsteps approached me about joining them as a full-time employee. At the end of the four-month project, Netsteps retained me as a consultant for work at Advocate Health Care.

In June, I became a full-time Senior Software Engineer at Netsteps, Inc. and I am still working for them at Advocate Health Care.
