Sausage Bean Chowder
There's a whole lot of flavor in this little soup.

1 lb. bulk sausage1 cup diced raw potatoes
32 oz. kidney beans1 bay leaf
1 can stewed tomatoessalt and pepper
1 qt. water1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1 chopped oniongarlic (to taste)
mixed vegetables (frozen)1/2 cup chopped green pepper

Fry then drain sausage. In a pot, mix together all ingredients except potatoes, green pepper, and vegetables. Cook on stove top for 1 hour. Add the rest of the ingredients and cook an additional 20 minutes.

Cheesy Puffins
These easy-to-make muffins go well with any soup. We love having them with the Sausage Bean Chowder.

2 cups biscuit mix (i.e. Bisquick)2 Tbsp. sugar
1 egg2/3 cup milk
1 cup shredded cheese

Mix all of the ingredients and fill greased muffin cups 2/3 full.

Bake 15 minutes at 400 degrees.
